ACC Dental Injury Claims
ACC will assist with dental treatment costs if you have a dental injury in NZ, caused by an accident, sporting injury, or as a result of dental treatment, and it is registered with an ACC registered dentist.
It is important to claim dental injuries for children too, as they may need further treatment in later years.
How do you register your dental injury?
It is easy to register, simply book an ACC consultation with Dr Joy, a registered ACC dentist, as soon as possible.
At your appointment, you will need to fill our an ACC form about your dental injuries. Dr. Joy will then assess your injury, take x-rays and discuss treatment options with you. She will advise you of what contribution ACC will make towards treatment costs and what co-payment you can expect to pay prior to starting treatment. Depending on the injury, you may require follow-up care or referral to a specialist.
Documentation of your injury claim will be registered with ACC by Dr. Joy and you can expect to receive a confirmation letter from ACC a few weeks after your initial consultation.
